Brilliant song for YEARS!
Joe Morello. One of the greatest drummers of all time. Made complex time signatures look easy. And the fact that he was blind. Proves that anything is possible. Paul Desmond is amazing on the tenor sax. Listen to the rhythm section hold it down. The solos could have just kept going the band is so tight. Playing jazz is like ecstasy. It crawls right into you. Both Morello and Rich had amazingly quick hands especially their left hands. Joe’s playing to that of Buddy Rich because Joe is always relaxed where as Rich steals the show withe his amazing drums.
This was written by Paul Desmond, the Sax player. Fantastic piece of music especially the amazing drum solo. Beautiful. As good as any jazz can possibly be. A true legendary classic.
Dave Brubeck Live in 1964
One of the best quartets ever. Dave Brubeck was a stride master. That is what is never mentioned. They were all individually amongst the greatest ever.
